Utilizing leading edge advancements and products in plant and animal health, we are the supplier of choice in our area. We are currently seeking an Operations Manager to join our team!

Key Responsibilites

  • Responsible for the management of the location and maintenance of facility assets
  • Front-line customer service, handling customer inquiries/concerns, pricing discrepancies, problem resolution
  • Effective leadership of team including hiring, development, training, performance monitoring & coaching
  • Ensures the location and the yard is properly maintained, clean and safe for customers and employees
  • Conducts regular plant inspections and audits in accordance with the applicable legislation
  • Provide leadership in the areas of Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) including participation in OH&S activities, ensuring team members understand and comply with OH&S policies, procedures, and legislation
  • Ensures loss control procedures are in place to minimize or prevent workplace injuries, property loss and environmental damage
  • In conjunction with maintenance staff, and/or maintenance contractors perform equipment repair and maintenance
  • Manages the inventory at one or multiple locations including conducting and monitoring monthly inventory counts
  • Ensures loss control procedures are in place to minimize or prevent workplace injuries, property loss and environmental damage
  • Prepares expense facility budgets and manages annual operating budget for the location
  • Ability to lead by example and facilitate collaboration with all team members, on farm and other business departments

Knowledge & Skill Requirements

  • A college diploma or university degree in Agriculture or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience, leadership accountabilities, experience in maintaining cost effective operations
  • A high degree of problem-solving ability is required. This position works independently as well as uses a team to maximize customer service
  • High attention to detail, ability to multi-task and demonstrated ability to resolve complex problems and ensure critical deadlines are met
  • Excellent communication both written and oral
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new things
  • Must be flexible with your schedule as more hours will be expected during peak seasons including evenings and weekends
